Who’s Interested Explained
A clear guide to managing interest in your rooms, rentals, properties for sale, land, commercial property and Wanted Ads.
How Who’s Interested works
When people browse Jamaica Homes adverts, they can save an advert for later or make direct contact. Who’s Interested shows the people who have formally contacted you about an advert, giving advertisers one organised place to follow up through Messages. The conversation history can remain visible if that advert later expires, is archived or is no longer public.
Saving an advert bookmarks it under Saved Ads. A direct enquiry, viewing request or response to a Wanted Ad is the current way to make your interest visible to the advertiser.
How do I reciprocate interest?
Open the relevant advert or conversation, then send a message or viewing request. Your response is kept in Jamaica Homes Messages so both parties have a clear conversation history.
Contact details are shown only when an advertiser has chosen to share them and access is permitted. Otherwise, keep communication within Jamaica Homes Messages.
Why did I receive a notification but cannot see the person?
A person or their advert may no longer be available by the time you open your list. Common reasons include:
- •The person removed your advert from their Saved Ads or retracted their interest.
- •They found a suitable room, property, tenant or buyer and removed or deactivated their advert.
- •Their advert or profile expired, was paused, or is awaiting moderation.
- •Jamaica Homes removed or restricted the profile for safety or policy reasons.
Why didn’t I receive an email notification?
Email notifications follow your Email Alerts preferences. If there is no active, viewable profile or advert to link to, Jamaica Homes may not send an interest email. Create the appropriate Room Wanted, Property Wanted or other advert, then keep it active so people can identify and contact you correctly.
Account → Email AlertsRemoving someone from your list
Use the conversation controls after you have contacted someone or ruled them out. Removing a person:
- •removes them only from your personal Who’s Interested view
- •does not delete their account, profile or advert
- •does not notify the other person
- •does not remove your advert from their Saved Ads or Who’s Interested view
- •does not affect an existing conversation between you
Where available, Jamaica Homes shows an Undo option immediately after removal.
Save Ad and showing interest
Save Ad bookmarks an advert so you can find it later under Saved Ads. Showing interest happens when you contact the advertiser, request a viewing, or respond to their Wanted Ad. This distinction helps you choose the right action for your next step.
Privacy and safety
Only information a user has made available through an active advert or public profile is shown. Jamaica Homes does not expose private email addresses, telephone numbers, private notes or restricted account information through Who’s Interested.
