Help Centre

When you make certain changes to your Jamaica Homes account — such as updating your name, email address, phone number or other sensitive details — we may ask you to confirm the change with a one-time verification code sent to your registered email address.

This is a security measure to protect your account. It ensures that only you (or someone with access to your inbox) can make important changes.

When Will I Be Asked for a Code?

You may receive a verification code when you:

  • Update your display name or contact name
  • Change your phone number or WhatsApp number
  • Update your email address
  • Change your account type or advertiser profile
  • Perform any other change that affects how you appear to other users

How Does It Work?

  1. You make a change in your account settings or profile.
  2. A 6-digit code is automatically sent to your registered email address.
  3. A box appears on screen asking you to enter the code.
  4. Enter the code within 10 minutes — after that it expires.
  5. Once verified, your change is saved.

I Didn't Receive the Code

If the code hasn't arrived within a minute or two, try the following:

  • Check your spam or junk folder — verification emails can sometimes be filtered
  • Make sure the email address on your account is correct
  • Click Resend code on the verification screen
  • Add noreply@jamaica-homes.com to your contacts to prevent future filtering

The Code Has Expired

Codes are only valid for 10 minutes. If yours has expired, simply click Resend code or go back and try the change again. A new code will be sent to your inbox.

I Didn't Request This Code

If you receive a verification code but did not request one, it could mean someone attempted to make a change to your account. Do not share the code with anyone. No action is needed if you did not initiate the change — the code will expire on its own.

If you are concerned about unauthorised access, please contact our support team immediately and consider updating your password.

Why Does Jamaica Homes Do This?

Identity verification codes (sometimes called OTP — One-Time Password) add an extra layer of security. They confirm that the person making the change actually has access to the account's registered email, which helps prevent account hijacking and unauthorised profile changes.
