How to Advertise a Vacation Rental

Reach travellers looking for short-term stays in Jamaica — from beachfront villas to cosy city apartments.

Getting Started

To list a vacation stay, go to Post Ad and select Vacation Stay. This category is designed for short-term and holiday rentals.

Set your price as per night or per week depending on how you prefer to rent. This will show guests the rate they should expect.

What to Include in Your Listing

  • Clear, accurate title — mention the location and property type (e.g. 'Beachfront Villa, Negril')
  • Description covering amenities, nearby attractions, house rules and check-in process
  • Nightly or weekly rate — if you leave it blank, the listing displays 'Price on request'; explain your seasonal or stay-length pricing in the description
  • Number of bedrooms and bathrooms
  • Key features: pool, ocean view, beach access, air conditioning, Wi-Fi
  • Your contact details — WhatsApp is highly recommended for fast guest communication
  • At least 8–10 high-quality photos showing every room and outdoor spaces

Tips for Attracting More Bookings

Use 'per night' pricing

Guests find it easier to compare nightly rates.

Add WhatsApp

Travellers prefer quick WhatsApp communication for booking enquiries.

Mention nearby attractions

e.g. '5 minutes from Doctor's Cave Beach' or 'walking distance to Kingston Waterfront'.

State house rules clearly

No smoking, pet policy, maximum occupancy — set expectations upfront.

Get Featured

Featured listings appear at the top of search results and are seen by more potential guests.

Update availability

Keep your listing description up to date with current availability to avoid wasted enquiries.

Important Notes

  • • Vacation stays are advertised as listings — Jamaica Homes does not process bookings or payments between hosts and guests
  • • You manage your own calendar, pricing and booking confirmations directly with guests
  • • Ensure your property complies with local short-term rental regulations in Jamaica
