A House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) is a property that is rented out by at least three people who are not from the same household (i.e., they are not family members) but share facilities such as the kitchen, bathroom, or living spaces. HMOs are often found in larger houses that have been divided into separate living units, each occupied by individual tenants or groups of tenants who share common areas.
