Site Supervision

woman engineer writing down on paper

Site supervision is like being the boss on a construction site, making sure everything runs smoothly and safely. Imagine you’re building a big house or a shopping mall in Jamaica, and there are a lot of workers doing different jobs—some are digging, some are putting up walls, and others are painting. The site supervisor is the person who makes sure that everyone is doing their job right, on time, and following the safety rules. In Jamaica, where the weather can change quickly, like sudden rain or storms, the site supervisor has to be extra careful and adjust the plan if things are delayed because of the weather. They also check that the right materials are used, that workers have what they need, and that the building is being done the right way. Around the world, wherever construction is happening, the site supervisor’s job is the same—they help the project stay on track, solve problems if something goes wrong, and make sure the building turns out the way it’s supposed to. Without a good site supervisor, things can get messy and the project might not finish on time or look as good as it was meant to.
