The name “Ewarton” comes from the last name “Ewart” and the word “-ton,” which means “town.” In 1957, a big factory that made aluminum was built nearby, which helped the town grow. The factory closed in 2009 because fewer people were buying aluminum, changing the town’s economy. In Ewarton, there are schools like Ewarton High, Ewarton Primary, and Polly Ground Primary. The town also has around ten different churches, including ones for Baptists, Anglicans, and Roman Catholics.
